Camp Clarke Rendezvous a success this year

Posted: Updated:
Some locals took a step back into time to feel what it is like to live without modern day inventions and technology.

Thirty nine years ago, men fond of shooting and living in the "old times" began the tradition of the Camp Clarke Rendezvous.

Since then, it has grown into a family event, attracting people from all around the panhandle. Club president Andy Harris says that it is a great opportunity for people to take a break from the hustle and bustle of a busy, technology– filled life.

"They actually have to go out and find something to do," says Harris. "Otherwise, laying around in the sun they don't have any fun, but even city kids have a chance to learn what it was like being out in the open spaces."

The group has grown to 150 members and they invite others to join in. For more information on becoming a member visit
