Man who was federally indicted on meth charges arrested again

Posted: Updated:

Just hours before a federal indictment charged Christopher Garcia with a meth distribution charge, the Sidney Police arrested him on a new meth charge.

At 11:30 Monday night, a Sidney Police Officer stopped a vehicle occupied by 29-year-olds Emmanuel Cabello of Alliance and Christopher Garcia of Gering.

Officers found 19 grams of methamphetamine hidden in Garcia's shoe. Both were arrested on charges of Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Deliver.

On Tuesday morning, Garcia was indicted on the same charges on the federal charges stemming from a May 9th arrest in Box Butte County. He was initially charged with a Class IV felony, and was able to post $1,000 in bond and get out of jail.

Under the federal charges, Garcia is facing up to 20 years imprisonment and up to a $1 million fine.
