People getting geared up to cool down at area pools

Posted: Updated:
With temperatures already hitting the mid-nineties this week, people across KOTA Territory are looking for a way to cool down.

The City of Scottsbluff says it will be opening its two municipal pools on Saturday. Westmoor Pool is a fan favorite with several water slides, and the Splash Arena has a diving board.

Parks and Recreation Director Perry Mader says they are staffed with lifeguards, and are ready to kick off the season this weekend.

“We are looking forward to another good season. We did some work to the Westmoor Pool. It hasn’t hurt our timeline at all. So we should be able to open up on time," explains Mader. "As a matter of fact, Westmoor pool is ready to go, staff is being trained right now, so should be a great season.”

Annual pool passes can be purchased for $125 for a family through the end of the week.
