Posted: Updated:

The man accused of paralyzing another man in a shootout at a Hawk Springs restaurant will be heading back to court later this week.

A preliminary hearing  for 53-year-old William Eugene Schlager was postponed this morning due to a scheduling conflict with his defense council.

Schlager is charged with Attempted First Degree Murder  following an April altercation at The Emporium Restaurant in Hawk Springs, Wyoming.

Schlager is also facing four other charges, including attempted robbery, aggravated assault/battery, use and possession of a firearm by a felon, and use of a firearm while committing a felony.

Schlager will be back in Goshen County Circuit Court for a preliminary hearing July 11.

He is facing  48 years to life in prison, and up to $45,000 in fines if convicted on the charges.
