52 teams competing in the 26th Annual Sugar Valley Rally are spending half the day behind the wheel stopping in Lingle, Guernsey State Park and Mitchell this weekend, but all participants say they're hoping to win tomorrow's final leg.

The rally focuses on how well teams can navigate the course trying to precisely stop in a certain location at a specific time, all while driving vintage cars.

This year's team to lead the pack is Alliance Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Troy Unzicker and wife Susan, Alliance's Chamber of Commerce executive director.

The two, who won the rally a few years back, said there's a little bit of pressure starting first but it's still fun.

"When you're the first car there's nobody to guide you so you have to make sure you find all of the signs," said Troy.

"I've been in the car for 17 years and I've always navigated. Susan's driven for me for the last ten years so she'll drive and I'll navigate all day. The only time of the year she has to listen to me."

The duo is driving a 1947 Ford Coupe.

Participants leave for Chimney Rock's visitors center on Sunday at 8 a.m. near the Knight's of Columbus office on 1st Avenue in Scottsbluff. They finish at Cozad's Antique Ford Garage in Gering around 11:15 a.m.
