Ten students receive high school diploma through ReConnect program

Posted: Updated:
A Scottsbluff Public Schools transitional schooling program is seeing success in its second year of operation.

Ten ReConnect students donned a cap and gown last week, and were handed their high school diplomas.

ReConnect is a dropout prevention and recovery program that helps high school drop-outs transition back into school, and eventually receive a diploma.

In its first year, ReConnect graduated 18 students, there are currently 38 students enrolled in the program working toward graduation.

Additional graduations will take place over the summer as more students complete their coursework.

"ReConnect is currently enrolling new students. Summer hours are 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Monday
through Thursday or by appointment. If you are a student age 16-21 who has dropped out of school
and would like to get your diploma, contact Mario Chavez at 308-633-2211 to discuss your options."
