Pat's Creative, a destination stop on the Patchwork Passion tour

Pat's Creative is the only panhandle destination for featured quilt shops on the Patchwork Passion tour.

Five miles off Gage road in Hemingford you'll find the family owned quilting shop.
"Working with grandma and mom through the business growing up and I officially started working when I started my family 15 years ago," said Shelly McConville.

McConville's grandmother, Pat, started embroidery out of her home 39 years ago but when things spun out of control the business needed to move next door.
"In '86 we had to build a building to become a sewing shop with the sewing machines and we've just grown from there," said McConville about the shop which has more than six-thousand bolts of fabric.

This is the first time Pat's Creative is on the Nebraska Passport program and already more than 30 people have visited.

McConville says she hopes the store will stay in the family.

"I have a 12-year-old daughter who hopes to take over the business also so it would be fourth generation so I guess we want to keep the business going," said McConville.
