Another location on Nebraska's passport program takes visitors on a trip back into time.

The views are peaceful all around and the sounds are just as serene.

Located on the Oregon Trail sits a timeless reminder of what once was. The stories of the Nebraska prairie remain.

Legacy of the Plains museum is one of the most premier places to come in western Nebraska to check out the history of high plains agriculture and the Oregon Trail.

Executive Director Katie Bradshaw says that they are honored to be included in the passport program for the first time.

"We were really thrilled to be included in the passport program this year," says Bradshaw. "It's great timing for us to be able to reach out to people and let them know about all the new developments that we're going to be having here over the next months and years.

The museum is undergoing heavy renovations, but it is open during construction. Workers have been moving quickly to make changes and improvements are already being seen.

"We're on the how we move tour and we are just now starting to fill up our new building here, our annex building with some transportation related artifacts and some agricultural related artifacts, so the things that are going to be on display here, some of the things are going to be new, haven't been displayed in a decade or more," says Bradshaw.

One visit or five, there is always something new to learn at Legacy of the Plains.
