Scottsbluff School Board looks to approve upgrades to Lake Minatare Elementary

Posted: Updated:
Several months ago, a series of meetings was held to discuss the future of Scottsbluff's lone remaining rural school. After getting the green light to keep operations running, upgrades are now on their way.
Lake Minatare Elementary needed serious upgrades, including a new boiler, mechanical system and electrical system. The district said with the associated costs, it was clearly facing some difficult decisions.

But after three round table discussions, members from the Board of Education and District Leadership Team approved some short - and long -term goals.

Tonight during the Scottsbluff School Board Meeting, the board will consider approving a new boiler for the school. A memo states the lowest bid was from Taft Engineering in the amount of $19,500.
Superintendent Rick Myles says these facility upgrades will hopefully enable Lake Minatare to provide a viable, successful learning environment for the community.
