Hundreds of cars shine at Rock N' Roll Father's Day classic

More than 350 classic cars from seven different states rolled into Gering this weekend for the annual Rock-and-Roll Father's Day classic.
Part of the day included an auction held by members of the High Plains Auto Club. A little hot rod pedal car, a toolbox, and a quilt were auctioned off. The money raised goes toward education scholarships.

The annual event is a reunion for some car enthusiasts. Roger Davies of Hemingford says he enjoys fixing up cars with his family.
"The other car that's here my son and I built 20 years ago is a 1955 Chevy pickup and we build a 1968 Chevy pickup, 1972 Chevy pickup, my wife is currently working on a 1930s Chevy Coupe...yea so we're busy," said Davies who owns a white 1969 Plymouth Road Runner.
Bill Hewgley of Alliance owns a blue 1970 Dodge Charger special edition RT. "It's just a lot of fun and it's a great father and son deal. We get to work on them together and trade stories and just get to wrench on them together it's a lot of fun," he said.
After the car show, participants gathered for a dinner at the Gering Civic Center.
