City council not happy with progress on Avenue I

Scottsbluff city council members expressed their disappointment in the progress of one local street project.

The project on Avenue I has been an ongoing process, with workers behind schedule.

At last night's city council meeting, the council made it clear that they were not happy.

Jack Baker, of Baker Associates who is working with the subcontractor says at this point workers should have been at 55 working days, but they have only spent 44.

"As many of you know, it has been delayed numerous times," says Baker. "We've had some problems with the subcontractors on the site, they've left the site at times for days on end and we've had to do some reworking in several areas which wasn't acceptable."

Baker says that the final completion of the project is now slated for August 11th.
