Pursuit suspect arraigned in SB County Court

Posted: Updated:
The man who led police on a pursuit and ended up crashing into the front lawn of a Scottsbluff home earlier this week makes his first court appearance.

28-year-old John Alsidez of Scottsbluff was arraigned in Scotts Bluff County Court on Friday.

Alsidez is charged with nine counts relating to the early Tuesday morning pursuit, including leaving the scene of a non injury accident, willful reckless driving, driving under the influence 2nd offense, driving under suspension 4th offense, operating a motor vehicle to avoid arrest, possession controlled substance, motor vehicle theft, obstructing an officer, and vandalism.

Authorities say Alsidez stole a white pickup truck, hit another vehicle, then fled from police and crashed into the fence and front steps of a home on Fifth avenue.

Police arrested Alsidez after a short foot race and struggle.

He was treated and released from regional west medical center.

A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Alsidez on June 30th in Scotts Bluff County Court.
