County commissioners look to financial bonding for road projects

Posted: Updated:

A four-mile stretch of Sugar Factory Road in Scotts Bluff county is one step closer to being repaired.

During the latest county commissioners' meeting, board members reluctantly voted to use bonds over a 20-year-period to fix the road

County road and bridge director Bob Bennett said the estimated cost to repave the road would be $1.75 million dollars.

Additionally, he's looking to repave about one mile of 21st Avenue at an estimated $750 million dollars.

Bennett says he hopes the repaving projects for both roads can be complete by the summer of 2015.
