Posted: Updated:
The Nebraska State Patrol says its officers have seized cocaine with an estimated street value of $1 million after a traffic stop in southeast Nebraska.

The patrol says the drugs were found Saturday during the search of a sport utility vehicle that had been pulled over for speeding in Seward County. A trooper reported spotting several suspicious packages in the rear passenger compartment, which led to the search. The patrol says nearly 59 pounds of cocaine was found in 17 packages discovered throughout the SUV.

The driver of the vehicle, 39-year-old Sonia Hernandez of Norwalk, CA and 21-year-old passenger Freddy Hernandez of Dry Fork, VA were arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.
