Scottsbluff airport named pilot's favorite stop for 2014 Air Race Classic

Posted: Updated:

Earlier this month, dozens of female pilots zoomed across the country as part of a coast-to-coast race.

Now, Western Nebraska Regional Airport has been voted as the flyer's *favorite* stop during their four day run.

The Air Race Classic started in California and ended in Pennsylvania, and a total of ten airports were utilized.

Scottsbluff stop chair Sherry Fisher says it is an honor to have our airport be selected as one of the highlights of the race.

The race was initially dubbed "From Sea to Shining Sea" but Fisher says pilots changed the name to "Four Seasons in Four Days" after flying through sunshine, snow, rain, and severe thunderstorms.

Fisher also adds that this event could not be made possible without the help from all the sponsors.
