Gering City Engineer resigns

Posted: Updated:
The city of Gering will be looking for a new City Engineer, as Paul Snarr submitted his letter of resignation this week.

The Gering council reluctantly accepted Snarr's resignation Monday night.

One council member even joked about not approving the resignation, so would Snarr be forced to stay in Gering.

Gering Mayor Ed Mayo says Snarr accepted another position in a community closer to his family.

"It's been a great, great experience and I wouldn't trade it for anything," Snarr said. "I've grown to love this area, and I just want to thank everyone here at the city, great to work with. Thank you."

Snarr started working with the city in March 2012, his resignation is effective July 4th.
