Viaero gets approval to build 100ft tower in Gering

Posted: Updated:
Viaero Wireless has been given the green light to move forward with plans to construct another new cell tower in the area.

Plans are in the works to erect a 100 foot tower on vacant land near the Central Church of Christ on Five Rocks Road in Gering.

The tower will be a single–pole, and according to Viaero Representative Rick Bailey, it shouldn't hinder anyone's view of the monument.

Bailey says the new tower will increase 4G coverage and capacity within the area.

"You have access to the internet now with 4G, emails, so on and so fourth. Is there any cost to the city to build this infrastructure? None at all, but economically it will bring prosperity to the community because people will have a better ability to be able to work from home."

Viaero has also recently received approval to construct towers in Minatare, Scottsbluff, and in Sterling, Colorado.
