SBPD investigating suspicious circumstance

Posted: Updated:
The Scottsbluff Police Department is urging parents to be mindful of where their children are following a suspicious circumstance that occurred Thursday afternoon near 7th Avenue.

Around 12:25 police received a report of a man chasing two girls. The girls said they were at Lovell Park on 10th Avenue and saw the man walking around and acting suspicious, so they left on their bikes.

The man followed them on foot and the male was yelling at them to go to him. They ran to a home on 7th Avenue and asked for help. The homeowner saw the man, who then turned around and left in a silver sedan.

The man is described as a white male, 5'8", then with short blonde hair. At the time he was wearing a white shirt and red shorts.

If anyone has information on this case, they are asked to call the Police at 632-7176 or Crimestoppers at 632-STOP.

Police also ask parents to talk about being cautious around strangers, and if they do encounter a stranger who approaches them they should run to a place that other people can see you, and yell for help if needed.
