Farmer's Market vendors, patrons keep cool in rising temps

Posted: Updated:
Temperatures are expected to get into the triple digits this weekend, and people in KOTA Territory today are taking measures to make sure they're hydrated and protected from the sun.

Temperatures were already rising at the kick-off of the 18th Street Farmer's market in Scottsbluff Saturday morning.

People lathered in sunscreen, wore large brimmed hats and had plenty of water on hand to stay hydrated in the heat.

Vendors at the market also had to take extra precautions, as they spend three hours in the heat selling their goods.

"What we do when we come is we just make sure we bring our water with us to keep ourselves hydrated and sun tan lotion. Put our sun tan lotion on and we get out here and do the great farmer's market and then go back to Denver."

Temperatures are also supposed to near the triple digits Sunday as well.
