Carhenge scores high on USA Today's "Quirky landmark" list

Posted: Updated:
One panhandle attraction has scored top honors on a USA Today list.

Alliance's "Carhenge" placed third on USA Today's "Best Quirky Landmark" list.

The Stonehenge replica is built of thirty eight vintage cars to form an Americana–style copy of the famous British attraction.

The competitive voting continued for four weeks with the landmark at first place multiple times. Ultimately it fell short to other beloved landmarks.

The two landmarks to beat out Carhenge were the Longaberger home office in Newark, Ohio in second place and Big Tex in Dallas, Texas for first.

USA Today writes that Carhenge did so well because it is "strangely memorable."
