OTD Carnival workers prepare for opening day

Posted: Updated:
One of the biggest local festivals in the panhandle is now underway, but preparation for one of the events is still going on.

Among the most memorable parts of the Oregon Trail Days festivities is the carnival.

Carnival workers traveled nearly 900 miles with 35-40 trucks of equipment to set it up.

Steve Broestsky, President of Frazier Shows says it takes three and a half days to set up the entire operation and he is looking forward to a better turn out this year.

"We're hoping to have a little better run," says Broestsky. "We do our homework coming in here, Frazier shows. And we work with wonderful people with OTD who absolutely break their back to make this a success. And last year, needless to say, this time of year we were subject to a little adverse weather, so we're looking to have some much better numbers than we did last year."

Broestsky says that visitors can look forward to the classic rides they have always enjoyed.
