More shakeups with upper-management at Chimney Rock Villa

Posted: Updated:
Days after a laundry-list of complaints about the quality care given to residents of Chimney Rock Villa in Bayard was heard by the City Council, another upper-management employee has resigned.

KOTA Territory News has learned that Chimney Rock Villa's Head Dietitian Jolene Robinson has resigned. Earlier this week, Administrator Christie Martinez resigned from her position.

The City of Bayard owns the facility, and is managed by Rural Health Department. After hearing of grievances brought forth on behalf of its residents, both entities said they would look into the claims. Allegations included  medication errors, staffing shortages, and patient neglect - including not changing underwear and waiting days for baths.

A representative for Rural Health Department tells KOTA Territory News, "We take all complaints and grievances seriously. As with all complaints, we will investigate this matter. This is not the care we deliver and we will get to the bottom of this and correct the problem."
