Veterans home robber Curtis Soester sentenced

The man who robbed a western Nebraska veteran has been sentenced to no less than 10 years and no more than 16 years in prison.

Thirty-three-year-old Curtis Soester was charged with a class two felony robbery after taking a wallet from a resident at the Western Nebraska Veterans Home in late March.

Scottsbluff District judge Randall Lippstreu says that probation was “not an option.”

Soester has been behind bars since March 28th.
