Part of Peterson's new chamber position is planning Heritage Days. She says it was a fun challenge and is excited for the community to have fun during next week's festivities.

"I'm totally excited about all the events going on. I'm excited to be part of it. I've been around Alliance for Heritage Days several times now. it's different to be behind the scenes and getting it going and stuff," Peterson said.

Peterson has two children, a 16-year-old son and 14-year-old daughter.
