Canoe ramps still needing work

Posted: Updated:
New canoe ramps in the area have not been able to be fully utilized due to weather–related damages.

Scottsbluff Area Visitors Bureau Director Brenda Leisy says that the launch pads were set up in an effort to bring in more people to the area, however damages due to heavy rain and winds have hindered that.

"One of them was fine, but one of them washed out a little bit, so we just, of course, the wonderful people that work at the city of Scottsbluff and all of the engineers and people who do all that work are going to try to get it put in there a different direction so that the run of waters won't run off. You know, cause it to wash away," says Leisy.

Leisy says they are hoping to add a few other locations down the river maybe not now, but in time.
