Wyoming Gubernatorial candidates square off in Casper

Three candidates. Two attending. One debate.

Wyoming's Republican Gubernatorial candidates squared off in Casper last night for a debate Tuesday night at Casper College.

Candidate Cindy Hill declined the invite because the Casper Star Tribune is a sponsor, and says it's a matter of principle.

The other two candidates, Dr. Taylor Haynes and Governor Matt Mead squared off in front of a packed house.

One of Haynes main talking point was coal, and Mead spoke about expanding technology in Wyoming.

On August 19th, voters will have the opportunity to elect one of the three candidates to advance to the November ballot.

Governor Mead and Dr. Haynes squared off in the 2010 gubernatorial race, but Haynes only garnished 7 percent of the votes while running as a write-in candidate.
