Wyoming Highway Patrol: 80 means 80

Posted: Updated:
Two weeks since the new 80 miles per hour speed limit on part of Wyoming interstate highways were allowed the Wyoming Highway Patrol has issued a warning: 80 mph means 80 mph.

Troopers across the state say drivers are pushing speeds past the posted limit and are increasing the risk of being stopped.

Highway Patrol Colonel John Butler emphasizes that safety and welfare are a priority and the 80 mph speed limit will be strictly enforced.

He says when drivers go over the limit they risk injuring themselves and others.

Wyoming Department of Transportation crews began changing speed limit signs earlier this month along three sections of Interstates 25, 80 and 90.
